swiftaloe Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 so i got home today and went to finish installing some mods, and i start FNIS though MO like all ways and i get this "ERROR(57): The file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\temporary_logs\skeleton.hkx' already exists." i dont know what went  wrong, i tried manualy deleteing it, and i went though all my previous overwrites looking for this skeleton.hkx but its not in any of them. so i figured i can either reinstall FNIS or MO. the thing is i dont know how to go about that, i seen some posts about it but nothing relly "tutorial like". like if i reinstall FNIS do i have to reinstall anything else? like the fnis creatures or the patch? and in what orders? and for MO is there a way i can install a clean MO without losing my current mods or maybe just copy over the manual install option of MO into mine?  it seems like MO is having "overwrite" problems because it wont even sort my Load order.
Tefajo Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 ok, let see  When you run a process in MO that leads to a file creation of some sort (repatcher, FNIS, etc) all the output files appear in the "overwrite" folder (that you can see at the end of the mod list on the left panel) Once you have files in the overwrite you must either a ) Create a new mod with them  (for example, for the files generated by FNIS i crreate a new mod called "FNIS output") b ) Move the files to an existing mod folder (for this you would need to click on the overwrite folder, select "information" and them drag all folders to the desired mod)  In any case what i want to strongly remark is that: You can't run another process that would throw files on the overwrite folder until you emptied it.  Sorry if this seems obvious or you already knew it, but your comment on "my previous overwrites" kind of lead me to say it.   On the other hand, When installing FNIS you will only need the Optional File "Creature Pack" if you want creature animations. I wouldnt uninstall Mod Organizer since i am pretty sure it would solve nothing.  Try - remove all FNIS files - watch this video    - and then re install it  Â
swiftaloe Posted June 4, 2016 Author Posted June 4, 2016 yea thats the video i watched when i first installed FNIS, but reinstalling it did nothing.still getting the same error.
swiftaloe Posted June 4, 2016 Author Posted June 4, 2016 alot of posts im seeing are saying its a MO permissions issue, and that i should reinstall it. but how do i do that without losing all my mods and settings. i really dont want to sit there and re download everything and install it again. there is a post saying to backup my files and copy them over to the new MO install but it dosent say what files i need to backup....Â
swiftaloe Posted June 4, 2016 Author Posted June 4, 2016 allright this is making my brain hurt..... i just did a clean install of MO and copied over my mods, profiles, and overwrites folder and that dident work. if anyone has any ideas or need any info from me to further diagnose this issue let me know.
swiftaloe Posted June 4, 2016 Author Posted June 4, 2016 i fixed it, i went an looked though some of my older overwrite mods from MO and i un checked the last one i made and its working again.
