Custom Race NPCs can't wear armor

So I've taken a liking to the female Dremora from the the Coldharbour Resummoned mod (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69574/?) and wanted to use them as NPCs in a player home I'm working on. The problem is, no armor other than the one that comes with the mod shows up on them, whether equipped in game or through the CK. I tried changing their race's armor from "none" to "default race", but that only serves to give them my default body mesh and textures. I also tried making some armors specific to their race, but nothing still having no luck. Help would be much appreciated as I don't have any experience with NPCs in the CK.
