Showracemenu Blackeyes

Alright, i hope this doesn't get passed by...

I have quite a few mods, face mods, hair mods, body mods you name it... and even unique race mods. When i started the game i was fine for changing my characters appearance and eyes... but now when i type showracemenu, it causes my toon's eyes to glaze over black... it did this before when i didn't have a unique race mod... any ideas or fixes for this?

Just asking, have you updated your game? Mine had this bug and it got fixed when I've updated to 1.4~1.5, dunno if it's related, but that's what I did. Other than that, you can verify if you aren't using two conflicting 'eye-texture' mods or try to overwrite them with an updated version or even with the same.

alright very cool i appreciate the advice, I'm running my game through steam so it updates automatically... I'm going to guess it's due to the eye textures, I'll try and disable them, and download new ones, thank you :D

Also, did you make sure the textures are in the right folders (i.e. X:\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\textures\actors\characters\*name of mod*)?

I seem to remember something about patch 1.3 mucking up showracemenu and resetting everything to defaults when activated. If that's the case, it could be resetting to the default paths, and since you're using a custom race it can't find the related textures.

I haven't even touched races or anything mod wise for skyrim yet, you could try overwriting the defaults and see what happens.

Textures for the eyes/faces/etc go in the

Data\textures\actors\character

Followed by the sub group of race and I believe sex. Your best bet might be to pull apart or skim the BSA to see how it's laid out, then see by trial and error if putting anything in the relevant folder changes anything.

Have you tried doing a simple CK test? As in loading the mod and trying to change the NPC eyes that way? This is probably the easiest way to see if the modder has packaged it properly.

i really haven't touched CK at all so doing any of this would be quite hard because i don't know what i'm looking for :/

but the new update, is that my eyes are randomly just changing as ai play... and when i showracemenu try and change them, it doesn't allow the slider to move.... totally lame
