Skyrim continues to surprise me... ^_^

Few days ago I really got impressed by Lydia: I was down fighting against a monster, and she was high over a cliff, watching the whole combat and yelling at the enemy in that hilarious way she knows (you're dead! etc)... I mean, ok I noticed followers refuse to jump, even when I "command" them by console because they're stuck somewhere, the jump doesn't work... but well, suddenly she JUMPED down, using my roll-jump animation, putted out the sword like a ninja and killing everyone around, while I was watching at her, confused, with a face like "wtf?"... I really would have loved to tell her "and what about all the times you just watched the fight? were you just too lazy to do the same?"

But the best happened yesterday... after a clean reinstall, I started a new "straight" game (no alternative starts), after all the carriage animation etc etc I putted my head on the chop, waiting for the dragon to "save" me... well the dragon didn't come and my head rolled on the ground, end of the new game ^_^

Had someone already got some "experiences" like that maybe?

Without any Mods? I already started 5 New Games or something like that, and that never happened to me. And i never heard of someone who made the same experience. o.O

Try selecting Alduin at the beginning in console and typing "disable" to delete him from that save game once you are at the chopping block and before he uses his shout. I highly doubt that this is true, I thought that the executioner's stumble anim is a timed script. I can't test it though.

Actually it has been done. It's part of the 100 way to die in Skyrim video. I don't know if the creator disabled alduin or what but he did have the ax-man kill him because he never showed up.

Well, I think he made it up.

Though I've seen weird things at the start...but it was generally mod related. Or I guess it could have been game related, I don't generally play games vanilla, especially Elder Scrolls/Fallout.

I've seen...

Carts going as fast as the speed of light and flying into the distance

Carts again going as fast as the speed of light, but decide to fly upward into space

Carts sprinting into buildings

Horses going upside down and the carts rolling into each other like a huge tangled mess

Rolof and...that Imperial guy that I always forget the name of...sprinting randomly back and forth and repeating the same cycle over and over

Standing in Rolof/Imperial guys house and the NPCs just are frozen, doing nothing, usually right inside, in front of the door.

And...yeah think that is all I've seen. Probably mod related, but I never play the start anymore anyway, I always do alternate start now. The last few times, everything worked fine. Just occasionally the beginning of the main quest (anywhere from the very start, to the beginning of Riverwood)...never had any problems in any of the quests after that.

I saw that video of the 100 ways to die in skyrim, I though the author "modified" in some ways what should happen at the start to make it happen as he wanted... I mean, I think modders can do almost everything in the game, but it's not definetely my case, that's why I was surprised :P

And well I wasn't really precise, I did a clean install because I wanted to clear all the mods I tried and I wasn't using in the previous installation... so in a new installation I just putted a bunch of the ones I wanted... but they are mainly aestethic ones, some hair and eyes, some monsters, some hd water and flames... I mean, no alternative ways to start or to die, for example ^_^...

but yes, probably something in some apparently innocent mod for some reason messed up my new start... I'm sure there's an explanation for every strange fact but... well these facts are hilarious, in my opinion... maybe Lydia one day suddenly will turn to my player and will start to explain why but mainly HOW she jumped ^_^

Lydia was probably as surprised as you were. Learning to jump is a big deal.

And Alduin not showing and getting your head chopped off, I think it was something against you personally or maybe your computer was just having a bad day and letting it out on you.

@thesapien

yeah yeah kid me kid me, but the other day she jumped again, and yesterday also she rolled on the floor like a ninja... probably she's possessed... :)
