Scripts slowing down game

Hello

I've noticed that some scripts from mods installed will cause my game to grind to an almost complete stop, going from 60 fps to around 20.

I did a savegame, then restarted the game and it's back to 60 fps again. I've tried using SaveGame cleaner to remove bad scripts.

However, the issue persists, what can I do to get rid of this? It's super annoying.

thank you, please ask if I need to provide any logs, I'm sure there are plenty of them :dodgy:

Hello.

Yes, papyrus.log (as attachment) and your mod list can be useful to better understand what mod can be the problem.

I was looking through the Papyrus log and saw the faulting mod, I disabled it and it seems to work now when it's gone and doesn't load.

If a single mod was able to slash your FPS down to a third, you may have incorrect settings in your Skyrim.ini. Check that fUpdateBudgetMS and fExtraTaskletBudgetMS are not set to absurdly high values. The default for both of them is 1.2, and I wouldn't recommend going much higher than that. (The values represent the duration, in milliseconds, that Papyrus can use to process scripts after each frame is rendered. If the values are set too high, the next frame can be delayed considerably, resulting in low FPS)

That is good.

What was the mod?

It was some old outdated (probably damaged) SPS mod, it caused some stack overflow (is that correct term?) It wanted to fire a script, but the script never loaded so it kept looping to try and fire the script. Gonna go look at the files tomorrow and clean it all out.

Didn't even know I had that mod installed until today.
