darklycan1304 Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Anyone else ran into CTDs on load with Legacy of the dragonborn and sexlab (latest) installed? im fine with every other mod on my order and only CTD now when i try to load a save with Legacy on, I'm wondering if anyone has found a way around it or encountered it. As its not the LL mod thats the issue (due to the CTDs only occuring when Legacy is on) ive posted it here.
Guest ffabris Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Legacy was murder on my system. I found I was crashing very soon after visiting any of the interiors. I gave up on it long ago. Nice idea, but I prefer a stable game. Just my 2c wotth.
darklycan1304 Posted March 16, 2016 Author Posted March 16, 2016 system specs wise im more than able to run skyrim and all the mods, it's a game engine issue i think, possibly too many scripts in one game, before anyone says about save bloat, even new saves CTD after enabling sexlab and creature anims on it. It's a shame it looked great, but without creature anims SL is not the same
Guest ffabris Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I think the issue with legacy is several things combined, including LOTS of objects (and therefore LOTS of textures), scripts, etc. So yes, comes down to making a choice of what you consider more important for your game. For me, it was tossing out Legacy. Good mod, absolutely, but I prefer to have SexLab working and a stable game.
merryMalfunctioning Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 On the LotD page it claims that there is an issue between Legacy and Sexlab -- apparently because of Sexlab hooking into the animation system and disrupting it. However ... My suspicion is that it's the String table issue. Legacy of the Dragonborn increases the string count enormously, and so does Sexlab. The fact that the issue arises after enabling sexlab and creature animations is further evidence for me, since Sexlab's string usage is almost entirely due to animations. Basic Sexlab can use 2000 strings, and it can easily get up to 6000 once you start adding SLAL packs. I'm installing the latest LotD beta right now, and I have the latest Crash Fixes, so it will be interesting to see if I experience this issue or not.
Pkatt Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Any update on this, mark? I just saw this, and I'm glad I did. I have LotD installed, but have not started it yet. I was wanting to play it, it looks great, but just realized today that there was some type of conflict. Like others, I'd rather have my stable Sexlab game. I wonder if it would be ok, since I haven't actually started it or went to Solitude yet, if I just uninstall it...

Takes a long time, even if you try to just go straight through the main quest line. So many diversions... My suggestion? Make sure you have the latest Crash Fixes installed, make a backup save, and just start going through LotD for a few hours. Go out of your way to stress it, see what happens. I suspect it will probably be okay as long as your PC relatively modern and can handle the scripting load, and you don't have too many other always-running mods.
