Skill Books stopped giving skill points

All of a sudden, books stopped given skillpoints when read.

 

Yes, I'm sure it's a skillbook, and no, I haven't read it before.

 

Any idea what can cause this?

without your mods list is hard to tell, but, sexlab arousal adds a debuff that reduces learning speed while aroused, if i'm not wrong, it causes book to not give a whole point, but they still give you some experience towards that skill. Try to lower your arousal and read a skill book to see if thats the case

from Skyrim wiki: "If you find an additional copy of a skill book that you have already read, you will not receive any skill bonus for reading the additional copy."

Well, Mods... If you use requiem you wont get lvl for reading it, and there are also mods that are doing that.

Ah, I didn't know that about Arousal.

I don't use Requiem, and as stated in the original post: no, I haven't read it.

You also will not get skill gains from books if you set the "gain rate" sliders in SkyTweak for the various skills to the lowest setting (zero).

 

Move the sliders up to at least one "notch" to get gains from books.

After running some tests, I'm pretty sure it's Arousal. Thanks for pointing that out!
