Death Alternative not working

For whatever reason, ever since i installed Skyrim Redone Death Alternative is no longer able to fully initialize. The debug in the death alternative menu says "Player Alias" and "is Essential" are both unchecked whereas before they were checked. Even when starting a new save this issue happens. 

 

I've tried to re-install death-alternative but since my game-saves depend on it so much it crashes.

 

Anyone know a fix for this?
