When I remove ENB, the weird trasparency in these skirts goes away drastically. Does anyone at all know what it is about certain enbs that does this? I'm using a radeon 6990, i tried forcing AA through the CCC and it didn't help. Thankyou.

its not just that armor, its alot of armors, some doors, hairs ect ect

it has something to do with the lighting and shadows and ENB mods

and mabye the videocard type (im also using a ATI card)

this has seemed to help though its kinda extreme, it removes

all shadows from skyrim (but not addon locations)

or it could be the INI edits for the shadow mod that helped me

but here is the armor link, if you just want the armor

I got similar problems, armors, hair, grass, rocks with drawings, etc.

For the grass and rocks, they look like this in some camera angles.

Usually ENB mods is overwrite the AA or AF instructions ingame on the fly. So it's expected graphical glitches happen when this happens. Oddly enough, I don't like using ENBs as most are hackjobs and not a good implementation.

From the creator of ENB, Boris says,

(pardon his russian english)

Official patch 1.5.26.0 of TES Skyrim game contain many errors, but new added produce artifacts on the grass and under water when used with ENBSeries 0.103 or earlier versions. Normally (without ENBSeries), game use special vendor hacks for NVidia and ATI/AMD videocards (to increase performance), i turned them off by simulating fake videocard model and vendor. Modification worked slower, but for all users. After patch 1.5.24.0, all non NVidia and non AMD cards can't work properly with the game, so i don't have any other choice except to use vendor hacks (some time ago artifacts with fire, fog and magic effects were because of hacks, now fixed by developers). Can't develop for ATI/AMD videocards, my radeon 2400 pro do not support vendor hacks used by game. The only solution for ATI users now is to restore slow mode like in old versions of the mod, with bugs, but at least SSAO and DOF effects working. May be year later by official patch bugthesda will fix bugs or may be i will have ability to test on ATI. If nothing changes, then in future game will not work properly, when vendors will change identifiers or new vendor will appear on the market (google?). Many bugs which you see in TES Skyrim with ENBSeries enabled are game bugs or modified models (ENBSeries only accent mistakes). For example, extremely bright hairs; brighter hairs of original game; freezing of plants animation; wrong darkening of weapons and hand in first person view if SSAO enabled; not fixed vertical mouse axis; slow loading of levels.

By "slow mode" I think he's referring to enabling the use of indirect lighting under the SSAO settings. Indirect illumination is then added and can be adjusted and "slow mode" text will appear when first loading a game. But, yeah, ENB also had the related problem with ambient occlusion working too well, like for transparent textures, so riverbeds and such were getting too much light. Totally sucks having the biggest problems resulting from ENB's best feature, that of AO.

Btw, if you're using nVidia, he has a new ENB version with impressive shadowing

It sounds like you're confusing "ENBs" with individual profile settings uploaded to Nexus.

Maybe visit http://enbdev.com to learn more.

Ah, yeah, I'm now noticing the transparency on lots of hairs and vanilla armors, some rocks. The guard hats are transparent. o__o It seems like there's not much to try now, but when I get home next week I'll see what happens when I turn fast mode SSAO to slow mode. Thanks~

Err, I think you're the one confused. Read this sentence here straight from the ENB site:

First version released 3 december 2007. ENBSeries was an experiment of screen space ambient occlusion (SSAO) effect, how it change game scene without lights and poor overall quality. I was lazy to model 3d geometry and decided to apply ssao effect to GTA San Andreas (fit testing purposes well). After success i decided to add few additional effects, named modification and published on the forums in hope that somebody like it. I have no idea why continued to develop new versions and updates.

Effectively, it is still a post-processing unit that is run ON TOP of the usual effects such as AA and AF.

ENB is more apply described as simply switching one library set of directx instruction to another. The switch from one to the other, which can be handled on the fly using a hotkey, does NOT add a processing layer and then remove it. Instead it simply replaces parts of that layer. An exception might be AO, as the game originally had none, however, had AO been originally included it would had been implemented with similar directx instructions and at the same layer or step in processing. AF instructions is one that ENB does replace if that line is enabled.

Your quote doesn't support your claim. Of course, it's probably hard to find him describing his own work as "hackjobs" like you did.

I haven't played Skyrim for some time now, not since version 1.4. I am not excited to see these recent problems with ENB when I get back to it. So any experiences and results would be welcomed if you have any to share!

I just decided to use jasmin enb and disable ssao and depth of field through the enbseries.ini. I started using the dynavision mod for when I get in the mood for some DoF but I'm just done dealing with ssao's lunacy.

As far as I've seen, the effect causing it is AO. If I disable AO, everything using alpha blending looks the right way. This didn't affect just armors, but most of the NPCs hairs. I hope Boris can fix it...
