volatica Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 So, I downloaded a cool eye glow mod, but the options were kind of over the top. Bright red eyes and such. I was looking more for like a normal eye that glows. So I had this great idea; I'll replace the textures using Gimp to save a normal eye texture and have that. But even without modifying the glowmap, anything I save over that file is pink. Bright pink. Grapefruit. Attached are the original files, the edited files, the results, and my Gimp settings for importing and exporting. As you can see... what was once a green eye with a colourless glowmap becomes grapefruit eyes. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Guest Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Hi, what type of DDS are you trying to replace? I think you should replace the diffuse (color) map and not the glow map. Can you post the file name? Just to have a sure idea of which dds are you trying to replace.
volatica Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 Sure. So, the files I uploaded are the original dds image file for the eyes (the copy), the edited one I saved, and the original glowmap file (the _g) just in case it's clear if some setting I'm saving it with is making a mess of things? I did not edit the glowmap, because it already covers the eye area and it was white so I figured that meant no tint. Cheers! Original that came with mod. dawneye(4) - Copy.dds My edit. dawneye(4).dds Original, unedited glowmap. dawneye(4)_g.dds Hi, what type of DDS are you trying to replace?
