I'm actually greatly enjoying the game, because it's a game first and H-game second. Game is hard, but not unfair, which is something I've run into before in H-games - there's either no challenge or challenge is given by intentionally crappy controls.

Quick review (Haven't finished it; according to the "estimated hours" section, I'm about 1/3 of the way through):

Combat is similar to Final Fantasy 1, with the difference of spells drawing from a pool of either mana or lust rather than a set number of spells between rests. Lust recharges during a battle, mana has a set amount when you wake up and you can use mana potions.

Special powers are fucking useful, if somewhat poorly explained what they do (protip/maybe spoiler: When you get your second spellcaster, play around with her spells a bit to figure out what they actually do).

I'm unironically enjoying the story. It's very well written, and I'm finding myself playing not for the next sex scene, but to see where the story is going to go next.

Sex scenes are written well. If you're not a fan of written scenes though, you won't enjoy this game.

Controls could be better tutorialized; out of combat, arrow keys to move in the cardinal directions, space/enter to interact with what you're looking at, shift to sprint, escape to bring up the menu.

Menu navigation: Arrow keys, chose options with enter or space.

Combat: Fucking well done. I've only run across one fight where I was saying JUST FUCKING DIE ALREADY and that's because he had big enough heals that my party was having trouble killing him.

A healer is a necessity in your party if you don't want your squishy characters to get annihilated. There's a section fairly early on that's frustrating because you don't have a healer, and have to keep going back to rest to heal. You also can't use spells outside of combat, although you can use potions.

I recommend it, overall, despite some issues with clarity of direction.

Anyone else played it/have thoughts on it?

I will grab it tomorrow and let you know.

Edit: Playing it now. Impressed so far. Will write a full opinion piece when done.

Played one of the earlier versions; enjoyed it as well. The story is really something, which is quite rare for an H-RPG. The last game I enjoyed this much (except for VH, of course) was 【多重人格】皇女シーラ ~運命を操る者~ (AVデビューRPG) (RJ094178) - a very old RPG in Japanese.
