Fallout 4 mesh editing

I want to edit the meshes of the vault suit so that it's unzipped, similar to shads characters, but i want to make it skin tight unlike 2pacs, which is loose. Any advice how i would go about this?

Acquire a 3d editing suite. I use Maya 2016.

Acquire the latest version of NIFSkope here

Acquire your 3d assets in NIF format

Acquire Bodyslide and Outfit studio

Acquire Material Editor here

Open NIFSkope

Import the NIF to NIFSkope

Export as OBJ

Open Maya

Import OBJ to Maya

Make edits to mesh

Export changed mesh to OBJ

Import OBJ to Outfit Studio

Put together your outfit and apply textures if you want

Export as NIF(+reference when it applies)

Open Material Editor and open your material shader files (BGSM)

Reference your textures in the material tab, use Shared/Cubemaps/BlurContrastCube_e.dds for your environment maps, its a cool thing

Import NIF back to NIFSkope

Edit node data to reference your BGSM shader file (You'll need more help with this step)

Export your new NIF from NIFSkope to your game directory

Enjoy the bugs

Good luck, by the sounds of it you have a ton of work ahead of you. If you want to edit a mesh already made you need to make sure not disturb the vertex index of the OBJ. That is, dont delete faces or verticies. Any disturbance to the vertex index will ruin your UV mapping and then your textures will be ruined around the area you touched. Using scripted tools, or "destructive scripts", such as bevel edge or connect component will also destroy the sanctity of your index. Open your UV editor and keep an eye on your UVs. If you start seeing edges crisscrossing your UV space it means you fucked up.

If you're creating a brand new mesh then wow, I'm impressed. Dont forget to sleep! Good luck once again!
