Problem when starting new game, please help.

Hello!

 

When I start a new game, after I've installed a few mods. It gets to the point where I'm allowed to create my own character but my character just starts walking off!!

 

I can customize my character and then she eventually makes her way to the part where the guy gets his head chopped off but, that scene doesn't happen because for some reason i'm standing in his place!

 

Does anyone have any ideas, please? :C

Does it still happen if you disable all mods?

I had to do a clean reinstall, or you can attempt to find and download a savegame that's past that part.

 

EDIT: Forgot to add that I reinstalled mainly because I couldn't get anywhere near Solitude, Windhelm, or Dawnstar without crashing. If you manage to find a save file past the very beginning, i would suggest checking if the rest of your game is stable to see if it's worth reinstalling.

greetings, first time I have the chance to help, to anyone who is having this issue of walking off, the issue solved for me by deactivating the house mods, in my case deus mons and evil lair, (may be due to either or both but in my case that helped), but as I dont want to do that, nor the whole sequence of the start every game, I saved at the point of choosing if going with Hadvar or Ralof and I would just use the console command "showracemenu" to start a new game on that save with another race, also this was true when I had less mods, Hope its still usefull for someone else in the future

here are a easy way;

 

start a new game without mods, only.

make a savegame right after the escape from alduin.

 

load all of your desired mods.

load your savegame.

type showracemenu and finalize your character

 

enjoy the game.

There is workaround for this when your on the plate where your head is about to be chop off hit the tilde key target the npc that should have been in your place and type kill then everything should proceed as normal.

 

It is an annoying bug. But there is still something you can do about it.
