We also get the idea that there might be some desire for revenge, and very slightly, we get that there may be some desire for personal power. But what if there was something more, something personal. What if he also had feelings for Elisif? I'm not talking about obsessive stalker level, but dialogue that implies that he has feelings toward her, and that he might be a bit surprised that her reaction to what he did was to plunge Skyrim into war. Not that he thought that her reply would be "Oh...a real MANLY man" and jump into his arms, but just not going to war, and that eventually, though it might be a loveless political marriage, he might think a marriage between Elisif and Ulfric COULD happen. (Elisif "LOL NOPE!") I'd love for a mod with dialogue that explores that possibility.
