CTD's for no apparent reason?

I mean, obviously there must be a reason, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what that reason is. Here's what happened:

I decided to give SCIVIRUS' Clams of Skyrim a try and also installed Schlongs of Skyrim Light to go with it. After installing everything, I ran into this problem with crushed breasts and butts when moving around, with no true physics whatsoever. So, I tried reinstalling XPMS Extended, HDT physics, SKSE, and CBBE, uninstalled SOS and COS, and ran FNIS each time. Eventually, everyone went into T-pose and I finally fixed it with FNIS... only now, the game started crashing after loading a save and trying to take off my character's clothes. So I reinstalled everything again, and now I can't even load from a clean, modless save.

As far as I know, there are no loose scripts that should be causing this problem. Did the reinstallations bork something up?

I've uploaded a pair of Papyrus logs, if that helps.

Hey,

i wouldn't call myself an expert, but are you sure you have all mods re-installed?

The papyrus logs state that files are missing.

Also, yes, i think it is possible to screw save files up with complete re-installations. Best is, you start a new game and look if the error appears again.

If not, then it is either your save file, or a mod you don't actually depend on, but need in this particular case.

i'm not expert either, but this seems to indicate that your save is corrupted or using a different version.

if you have CTD with a new game... it means something went wrong when reinstalling. what mod manager do you use ?

if it's NMM, it doesn't always remove mods cleanly. i recommand using MO, it leave the skyrim Data folder clean.

you should remove Skyrim completely. make sure there are no left over in the folders, and then reinstall everything from scratch. adding one mod at a time and making sure it works before adding the next one etc...

I think you're right about the save corruption. I decided to just start a new game, and got all the way past character creation with no problems. I haven't left Helgen, but I did notice that Race Menu was working even though I have it ticked off in both panes. Also, taking off my character's clothes - regardless of sex - didn't produce a CTD. However, the lack of physics and body crushing/warping when moving was still present on a female, and apparently men have a big hole in their crotch.

Also, when I went to load the save after a female character creation, it crashed.

I'd really, REALLY prefer not having to reinstall everything, because my other through uses a bunch of stuff, and that'll be a pain to put back together. Damn it.

I did not reinstall ALL mods, per se, only CBBE, the physics, the skeleton, SKSE, and Realistic Ragdoll.

ok did you install SAM or SOS for the males ? thie big hole seems to indicate it, but only the body mesh and not the penis. look in the Data tab in the mesh part for character what files come from what mod.

now the physics problem... what exactly do you have installed to create the physic ?

I had SOS Light but uninstalled it, obviously incorrectly.

The physics were the latest version of HDT.

hmm, and what about the skeleton ? what version do you use ?

for HDT, it's HDT-PE right.

did you change the xml with it in anyway or download a mod that change it ?

A good idea is to start from one point then move forward from there.

-First thing you want to do is see if the game is broken or your save.

Easy, just start a new game.

If the new game works, you old save is busted, try cleaning with savegame cleaner.

-Next, if the new game didnt work the fun starts.

By the sounds of the problem description you gave it seems like theres a def problem with your skeleton or related mods.

First get the bodies you plan to use (both male and female)

Most bodies will require XPMS and probs HDT.

Go grab XMPS and install

Go grab HDT and configs (maybe just try that jiggles one on nexus)

Grab and install latest SOS (from LL)

Instal FNIS and run the Genforusers.

Try disabling mods you dont need and then start a new game.

See what happens from there.

Latest version of HDT-PE, yep. Didn't touch the xml at all.

I suppose there must be something in the meshes folder causing this, because I've tried all that. No CTD on this load, but still no physics also.

UPDATE:

Managed to get physics by rolling back to the original XPMS instead of Extended.

I was using the most recent version of Extended, yes. However, I decided to give Extended a retry on a clean save, and the physics worked. So, I reactivated all the mods I was using before and loaded the associated save. Sure enough, the crushing problem was back. I think it has something to do with XPMSE.esp.

if it works correctly on a new save but not on your current save, it means that save is corrupted. you could try a save cleaner.

if it doesn't work, you could uninstall every mods using the skeleton and XPMSE. load the save, wait a minute, make a new save. then run save cleaner on that save, load the save to make sure it works.

then install the mods again and XPMSE. load the made save and prey it works lol
