locokidx Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Firstly, Hello. I am new to the modding community trying to learn the basics of modding and get some of my ideas out into games. So on to the problem: I customized a mesh in blender and then imported it into Outfit Studio. Set up the textures which show fine in Outfit Studio but when I go to export it, the dress has the skin texture on it. I open it up in nifskope and I see that it's pointing to the skin bgsm. I would change it to the dress bgsm, except I can't seem to find it. Can someone guide me?
2pac4eva7 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 copy and paste a working shader from a vanilla nif, then change the material path in nifskope to the one you want. You will need to make a custom material file. Textures are assigned through material files now, they override any texture assigned in the nif itself. also, make sure that the wet material for the shader is correct, things get wierd when you copy and paste
locokidx Posted December 31, 2015 Author Posted December 31, 2015 Thanks for the reply! I tried copy and pasting a working shader, and pointed it to that one. However when I paste it, the BSLightingShaderProperty points to the Scene Root since the number carries over and it doesn't exist in the new nif. If I create a new material, how can I point it to the new material? The nif I have right now only points to the skin file for body. Is there a way for me to type a path to material I want? As it is right now, I can only assign numbers to the BSLightingShaderProperty. Edit: NVM. I figured it out! Thanks so much for your help! BTW I love your mods!
