anubis95 Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Hello, I have Steam Skyrim, Nifskope, 3ds max 2011 and am trying to port a model from another game over to Skyrim. I´m a total noob when it comes to this stuff, but after seeing a lot of tutorials (and I mean a lot), I somehow managed to get a nif file that I could open in Nifskope. The thing is, when I follow the tutorials and try adding the texture paths in the bstextureset section, only one texture appears, which covers the entire body. For example, if I add the face texture, the whole face image of the character sort of covers the model (so the eye appears on the chest of the model, maybe the mouth appears on the neck...etc). If I try to change the rest of the texture paths, nothing happens. It is only 1 specific path that works. I re checked a few tutorials, and it seems like I am doing something wrong with the BS dismember skin modifier process in 3ds max. The thing is, my model has 10 "parts", like arms, legs... while in the tutorial I saw the model was arranged in only 2 parts: the body and the head, meaning he did this dismember stuff to the body part, (selecting "skyrim main body") and then to the head (selecting "skyrim head human"), but in my case I dont know how to proceed. I have tried adding the dismember thing to each part (selecting skyrim main body), then exporting it, but when I open it in Nifskope same thing happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Gameplayer Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 I'm lazy...I would just take the NIF to Bodyslide/outfit studio and use its functions to copy the boneweights handle dismemberment...that or meshrigger.
anubis95 Posted December 29, 2015 Author Posted December 29, 2015 Ok, thanks for your answer, I used mesh rigger and managed to make it work in CK, except for the fact that when an npc wears the armor (which has a custom head, arms...etc) the npc´s face sticks out of the custom head, and so do its arms and legs. What am I doing wrong?? (So close..)

anubis95 Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 Yes! It worked. The armor now works in Skyrim, only problem being that it kind of takes strange shapes when the npc attacks..etc. I would really like to find a good tutorial on "polishing" the armor, but otherwise everything is solved. Thank you guys.
