HDT questions - minimising script load

So after waddling along with bbp then tbbp for quite a while, I find myself seriously considering making the switch to HDT. But there are a few questions I'm hoping someone can help me with.

1) I believe HDT physics on every female npc plus pc can be pretty demanding on skyrim; I'd prefer to keep it minimal - just bounces and jiggles on my player (and maybe one follower). In my install, every female character has the XPMSE skeleton. I know I can restrict physics to just my character (custom race - temptress or ningheim) by giving only that custom race a HDT enabled body. However, would that actually reduce the HDT script load, or would the game continue to do physics-related calculations for everyone since every female in the game has had a XPMSE skeleton installed? (And does HDT use papyrus in the first place?) This consideration is pretty central to whether I go ahead with HDT in the first place, so any informed input would be appreciated.

2) A bunch of my armors are still in BBP/TBBP format. How would that interact with the installation of HDT? Would it cause any issues with BBP/TBBP-enabled sexlab animations?

Thanks for any replies.

Its not about script load or skeleton. Its about meshes that work with HDT. If you replace all meshes in the game to be HDT compatible and have bounce then you will see every woman in skyrim bouncing and it will probably affect your FPS coz dll file will have to do all the math for each one of them. If you only make nude meshes hdt then you wont have problem at all since you will only see HDT effects when there is some nude female in the game.

Also if meshes do not have connection to hdt xml file you will see no bouncing.

TBBP works with HDT system.

Really, it only depends on the clothing/armors you're using. If they have breast/butt/belly bones that are weighted then HDT will effect them. This is anything tagged HDT or TBBP or BBP. No need to attach any xml file unless you want a specific bounce for a specific armor/cloths.

I usually install all my modded armor and clothing that NPCs will wear without them and custom armors and things my PC and maybe followers will wear with them enabled. This cuts the load way down to almost nothing. Hope that helps.

Hi Kinky and dTd,

Thanks for your replies. Basic takehome message I got was, if it isnt visibly bouncing, then it isnt exerting any load on the system. Got it - will probably go ahead and install HDT then. :D

Cheers!
