DenialSpiral Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Hey there lover scientists, new guy here! And surpise surprise, with a crash-prone skyrimto boot!Would anyone care to take a peak at my load order? I've had to deal with some script lagfor a while, but now it's been crashing randomly but frequently and I would like some advice in ordering all this stuff correctly and also about the relevance of some ot the plugins in comparison to others, and some pointers as to which ones (apart from the more obvious ones, like Better Vampires or Animations or All Geared Up) contribute heavily to my papyrus latency. But first, some non-load order stuff to give things a bit more context:- Already applied SKSE's memory patch (orbiting around 768 currently)- UgridstoLoad at 7- 1k textures where available- Crashes seem to occur mainly when reloading, and when there are a relatively high (for vanilla skyrim anyway) number of actors on the cell. I'll admit I'm using several NPC mods, just don't know if too many. Skyrim needs all the population density increase it can get, and I need vampiric cannon fodder for my own protection from the accursed VigilantDawn alliance!- ENB user, but FPS hasn't really been a problem for me. Not even with multiple actors on the scene.- NMM, tes5edit ans wrye bash user. Actually, cleaned (ITM and UDR both) everything Mod Checker would flag and tes5edit would allow.- Disabled ingame Vsync and enabled it on gfx card's manager.- Use Save Game Script Cleaner, so save bloat/corruption is not an issue. I hope.- I've noticed Some stuff just plain doesn't work, like Lock Overhaul and Nock2Tip for instance.- Footprints is set to 0, but not uninstalled yet. Does this impact anything still?- Skyrim.ini included, please consider checking the papyrus section if you have the time. Was testing some new configs to lessen the delay, with little luck.- If I forgot something, or if you don't know/remember what some of the plugins do, or if you need more detailed info like PC specs or the like, just ask and I shall deliver =)So, on to the load order: Skyrim.esm=1Update.esm=1Dawnguard.esm=1HearthFires.esm=1Dragonborn.esm=1Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp=1Falskaar.esm=1Wyrmstooth.esp=1ApachiiHair.esm=1MFVM.esm=1EFFCore.esm=1JSwords.esm=1Lanterns Of Skyrim - TheMadHatter Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 I'm no wizard with load orders, I usually let LOOT do mine, except for some patches I move around manually. What I can suggest though, have you tried CleanMem yet? http://www.pcwintech.com/cleanmem Personally love it. Same goes for CoreParkingManager (don't know the site GIYF). You could opt your BSA's and DDS's with DDSopt and BSAopt (think thats what its called, its on S.T.E.P. if I'm not mistaking). You could also use Ordenador's Texture Optimizer (which is pretty neat if you ask me, it's on Nexus). Other then that, LOOT Save Cleaner fucked up some saves for me so be careful. Papyrus save game utility or whatever its called has been useful though, I just use Save Cleaner if I really can't do anything with the save anymore. But either of the programs, no save is ever really clean, not like a clean save at least .
Guest Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 I would recommend you to use this program. Works miracles with optimizations: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12801/?

Haha thats the one I meant the exe is named Ordrenador or something like that. It really works great, if you check out the link to the optional ini download on the website the guy explains how it works very well. His settings are for "piss poor preformance pc's" or for things that are extreeeeemeely heavy textured on an average gaming pc but if you use it just to optimize it'll decrease the size by roughly 10% on your harddrive while keeping 99.9% of the texture and it can add mipmaps (if people forgot to add those it'll make your textures load faster and often decreases the size for big textures while increasing the size for small textures, go figure) etc. etc. You obviously lower the quality as well (check the picture in the link Elf gave you and compare the textures) which will decrease the size even more etc. etc. Its also able to compress your BSA's, I have little experience with it but it does seem to work. I would, however, add a lot of stuff to the ini file yourself because it'll hang forever on stuff like .hkx, .obj, .json, etc.. You can just add another line in the ini that says something like "Preserve File = *.obj" (for example). It really explains itself once you're doing it .

DenialSpiral Posted December 24, 2015 Author Posted December 24, 2015 Firstly, thanks for the feedback one and all! Secondly; I'm no wizard with load orders, I usually let LOOT do mine, except for some patches I move around manually. What I can suggest though, have you tried CleanMem yet? http://www.pcwintech.com/cleanmem Personally love it. Same goes for CoreParkingManager (don't know the site GIYF). But either of the programs, no save is ever really clean, not like a clean save at least . Sorry, should've been clearer... Already unparked my 4 cores, as well as set cleanmem to a 2min refresh (maybe I ought to increase it though, don't know how taxing that can be to my machine). And of course LOOT is a must-have, wouldn't even dream of tackling Skyrim mods without it! But it is automated, so some tweaking is inevitable, hence my initial concern! Didn't know about DDSopt and BSAopt, thanks for the heads up! I would recommend you to use this program. Works miracles with optimizations: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12801/? I had heard about Ordenador before, but was hesitant to use it because I really got the feeling it'd eat up my free HDD space like a zombie in a day care center! So it should decrease used space, you say? And what's the criteria for deciding if a texture is big or small enough? I distinctly remember the guy/gal (or maybe someone in the forums, been a while) saying you absolutely shouldn't set it to ordenating (that's a word, right?) your whole Data folder, so how should I go about doing this? And do explain more about adding file extensions on the .ini please, MadHatter. 1st time I ever hear about this! Also, if I understand correctly, if Ordenador is present, then BSAopt is redundant? this is wrong- {Papyrus} iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=468435456fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500bEnableLogging=0bEnableTrace=0bLoadDebugInformation=0fUpdateBudgetMS=3.6fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=3.6iMinMemoryPageSize=256iMaxMemoryPageSize=512 change too this note this is as high as you can safely go. changing the maxallocatedbytes does not give skyrim more memory to work with i have tried this too . use enboost for you extra memory fUpdateBudgetMS=2.0 fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=2.0 fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0 iMinMemoryPageSize=128 iMaxMemoryPageSize=512 iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=76800 bEnableLogging=1 bEnableTrace=1 bLoadDebugInformation=1 bEnableProfiling=0 lock overhaul have you enable the mod thro MCM menu does nothing otherwise. pretty sure fnis.esp should be above fnis pcea2.esp. also why is your tes5 merge patch bellow your bash patch. dsr patch should be at very bottom (bellow bash patch) you also have a few dangerous .ini edits in there read this page. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50244/? here is my ini for reference http://pastebin.com/k2bAY8Yu and load order (note i am not done tweaking this) http://pastebin.com/cpddMgm4 Forgot to mention this also, using ENBoost as well... but didn't know about its effects on papyrus, will set things accordingly. And about FNIS and PCEA2, well what can I say, other than LOOT being LOOT? Reorganizing this now... also didn't know (but suspected) about the merge/bashed patches order, thanks for that (as an aside, noticed your [Animation] has stuff about multibone update and mine doesn't? Should I correct this also?) Wouldn't use Ugrids=7 with DyndoLod....As its actually kinda redundant Oooh, most certainly did not know about this! I thought DyndoLod was for prettying up LODGen's stuff?? So uh... uninstall?
Gameplayer Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 The whole point of DynDoLod was to safely increase the range of all world objects being seen "up to the horizon." without pop-in So that is like having Ugrids=13 Thing is that it also increases your script load, oddly enough though DyndoLod does work without its scripts...You just need a beast amount of VRAM and RAM with ENBboost to pull it off on full....Same could be said about going high Ugrids. Problem with using a higher than Ugrid=5 is that you run into not just the stability issue of more NPC's and objects....Its also that stuff like more scripts in that Ugrid Area also start firing off. If you have NPC's that spawn outside your vision but also those NPC's likely pick up new scripts from the mods you added...Something to think about when putting a mods list together for a play through. So DyndoLod is quite likely the safer choice for a more immersive experience. The advantage of DyndoLod is supposed to be that your using Ugrids=5, so your more stable....Have less spawing NPC's....Those Npcs don't pick up mod added scripts until they are well withen a reasonable range and of course the ones way back behind you should be despawning taking those attached scripts with them.

I distinctly remember the guy/gal (or maybe someone in the forums, been a while) saying you absolutely shouldn't set it to ordenating (that's a word, right?) your whole Data folder, so how should I go about doing this? Incorrect. It will save up your space. I'm using it for months and never ever had any problem with this program. It even fiexes some textures glitches. It also creates backup, so you can always revert to the state you want to. When being asked about ordenating whole data folder and esm files, the author of the mod recommended to do it. But it also gave a warning of some unexpected errors. You can check his answers to the people in his thread a gave you on Nexus. Here is the link of what to do and how to use this great mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71294/?
Gameplayer Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 I used Ordinator but I kept the same Texture Size...Simply changed the DX compression, added mip maps where needed, and I think it also cleans, resizes, and removes certain types of erroneous errors. Basically it makes the texture file smaller...Easier for your Hardrive, Ram, and VRAM to move it around when needed....Makes it more efficient.
DenialSpiral Posted December 24, 2015 Author Posted December 24, 2015 Decreasing Ugrids?! But.... but.... StableUgridtoLoad.... aaaaw man! And the worst thing is, it really does also explain all the script lag I've been having. So even taking into account the good news about Ordenador (thanks for the recommendation btw, will get to it right away), I'll still probably have to decrease it anyway to put the stability-enchanted nail in the coffin, as it were. I was even half-seriously considering increasing it to 9 too once this was all sorted out, I still can quite literally see the npcs being birthed by the void, it gets grating fast. Thanks for all the clarification peeps, will make a status update once all changes are in place.EDIT: I know this is not the place for a "mod location/existence request please" thingy, but does anyone know if there's a heavy fog mod, a la Silent Hill? Like Dusty Distance for FNV? All the fog-related mods I could find deal with texture replacement and light distortion and all that newfangled stuff, not what I'm looking for.... anymore, that is. =p
Gameplayer Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Volumetric Fog, just watched a video of it way back when it came out....Not even sure if it is good or not...but it added a lot of thick fog if I remember right. Thing is I never used it haha. I use Enhanced Terrain....Its a big help to have a whole lot of extra trees blocking off the view of the horizon....So I just use a few LOD mods rather than DynDoLod...Cause if you cant see much past the tree's who cares right haha. ___________________ If your ENB is set properly... You wont even get to use Imaginator....Cause the ENB will be controlling the Image Space Shaders with its own program....Hope that makes since, but if your able to use Imaginator well then the ENBlocal.ini isn't set up correctly...Your actually missing out cause it can cause issues with how good the game will look.

Actually, I was using Volumetric Fog, but after a series of issues with ENB as a whole and night vision, I'm kind of stuck with the only one that is compatible with it.... And the author doesn't recommend using both at the same time. Says he "did fog right" and that it shouldn't be necessary. What do I have to tweak to set my enblocal.ini correctly? I was trying to use Imaginator to brighten the shadows in the ENB (which shouldn't be that dark, I couldn't even see the walls on the shade one time with predator vision turned on! ridiculous), but turns out I found another way to lessen the issue, so I don't need it anymore. Did I screw something up in using it? status update: seems the number of ctds have decreased significantly, though I still crashed that one time... but I blame that on the buggy pos that is skyrim a priori. But I gotta say, I was sort of expecting a night-day difference on the script lag issue, which sadly didn't happen. This thing's making me crazy... But after using Ordenador, I've noticed that some textures (specifically rock textures on tall mountains and the like) indeed have had a decrease in quality. Not that big of a deal, since I generally don't mind the muddy textures, and I can still download/resize the 2k package (and really, there's just no substitute for a stable-ish skyrim), but still...

On ENB boost Nexus comments page, Comments author ArturoPlayerOne Has a guide right in the comments section, he has a link to his own forum post but for some reason I cant copy paste text >< He has links to some Youtube Videos I found extremely helpful. author dptheslothking has the best video around on setting up ENBlocal file that I have found. Sorry I cant paste links and I don't feel like typing the lengthy addresses in. Links in text doc.txt
DenialSpiral Posted December 25, 2015 Author Posted December 25, 2015 Thanks for the links, really appreciate it! Though I've already tweaked all the settings that he mentioned... So that must mean I'm good to go, right? Just uninstall imaginator and everything should go back to ENB normality? I've tried to find an uninstall guide on Imaginator's nexus page but had no luck It's not like ENB doesn't work or show the letters in the intro or anything, after all..... right? Its effects are still active even after configuring Imaginator

I've removed it with save cleaner and got another couple dozen hours in on a character when I made the switch to an ENB preset over just ENBboost. was fine. Merry Xmas.

Guest Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Glad you solved the problem and don't take this as mean saying but best answer is in the post above you, form Gameplayer who suggested you to remove Imaginato mod. Why I'm saying this:it's because someone may have similar problem and instead of going through whole thread he will see the solution right away. My suggestion is to put the "best answer" mark on his post. But it's up to you.
