I moved a bit ago and recently went to update my pc to windows 10 was gonna use a bootable usb drive but when I went into my bios its blank however my pc runs fine. I use mostly older equipment ie my mobo is a dfi lanparty dk 790 fx m2rs. I cant afford to upgrade right now and frankly until it does die or I come into a lot of money I wont, I have tried twice resetting my bios the one thing I haven't tried is flashing my bios yet. Anyone have a clue how I might beable to fix this? If flashing it again is the recommendation then ill give it a try.

Your bios can not be blank if the computer boots and runs normally. If you purchased the computer pre-built  from a vendor, they sometimes make it very difficult to access the bios because they are afraid the end user will mess it up. Do you still have the owners manual, to check bios access, so you can change the boot order? I'll see if I can do a search on that mobo.

Edit:

Found a manual on line, to enter bios press delete key. Attached is a screen of the main bios setup page, is this what you saw?

Be aware that some users had difficulty booting with usb.

Its a custom built rig I did a few yrs ago this problem only started after I moved. What I get is just a blue screen when I enter setup Im a pretty advanced user considering ive been building rigs for 15 years.

Do you have a raid controller?

i had an issue on my Asus motherboard once, where the raid controller enabled itself and started performing raid mirror on two of my unused partitions. Before the OS driver kicked in, it would take 100% of CPU time, making BIOS page load up to 5 minutes, and then 5 minutes after EVERY keypress to refresh.

If you have raid controller sparate of motherboard, try disconnecting it, otherwise, try clearing CMOS.

[edit]

Oh! i know!

detach all USB devices except keyboard. On one PC i had an issue where any kind of USB mass storage device would make BIOS confused. BIOS would try to check it for boot sector etc, but (obviously) it would not respond as SATA or IDE so it switched to PIO mode in which it takes about 2 centuries to scan contents on anything bigger then a 2MB floppy.

On board the mobo yes but ive never installed any drivers for it set it up ect i have 3 hard drives but non of them are raid compatible there all different sizes, speeds, and ones even on a ide port. Ill go try disconnecting everything but my keyboard from usb and load my bios.

I posted this from my folks house on my dads pc im home now and will post my full specs

Win 10

DFI LP DK 790FX

AMD Phenom 2 x4 920

Nvidia GeForce GTX 660

Edit: nope and what displays btw is a blue line at the bottom and a cursor at the top gonna go ahead and reflash my bios.
