speaking with silence problem, help?

I got Mercer Fey to open the door, but once i got to the nord puzzle wall,i backtracked to the beginning, went back to the puzzle door and it opened automatically which was weird, maybe mercer opened it while i wasnt looking and when i walk through the wall , the quest objective (find karliah) completes but no arrow is shot, i look around and she's not there, i use the "goto" command in cosnole, it sends me to where she's supposed to be and nothing, i use the load command , and the game doesn't load anything ( or an invisible model) i use set stage to set the next stage in the questline, i black out as if was stabbed by mercer fey i fade in to the spot outside where she hands me gallus's book, but she's not there ,but i go through the dialogue , which goes through really fast , i receive the the book and no quest updates, Ethnir isnt at the frozen heart? any suggestions or advice? besides reloading ?
