snsd4203 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 I'm trying to make a custom helmet for skyrim I worked with 3dsmax, everything is done, such as UV mapping, bone weighting, BDDismemberance Skin. but... after I edit it with the nifskope and put it into the game, it always get some kind of weird looking shape For this helmet, I only created for heavy body(1), maybe is that the problem??? or do I have texture issue???? why is the weird shape showing in the game but not in the tools?? can someone please please please do the nifskope work for me??? T_T 1 2 3
Kalell Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 The red square with the exclamation point means the game can't read the nif file. Upload the nif and I'll take a look at it and see if I can figure out what's wrong. Btw, helmets don't need _0 and _1 meshes. Whatever you have your body weight set to helmets always use the same nif. Edit: I was wrong, helmets do have both _0 and _1 meshes, but they're usually the same mesh.

snsd4203 Posted April 11, 2012 Author Posted April 11, 2012 couldn't get it work as a face tint. Ck said it needed a soft lighting map Thanks. Might have learned how to fix hair-helmet replacer transparency issues I have no idea what soft lighting map is is that like a black background with white textures?
Kalell Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Ok, I've gotten the hair to show up but it's way too high above the body. The head isn't showing up, but the eyes are there I think (I didn't know where to put the textures so it's hard to tell). The BSDimemberSkinInstance partitions were set to either FO3 or Oblivion partitions instead of Skyrim partitions, but I've set them properly now. There were also some FO3 or Oblivion properties that were still in the mesh and were the reason you were seeing the exclamation point in the game. There are still a lot of things that need to be fixed. I'll mess with it some more and see what I can do. I think the mesh may be using an old skeleton from FO3 or Oblivion.

[/quote'] aww, thanks and you are right, I got the mesh from oblivion(evie race)
snsd4203 Posted April 11, 2012 Author Posted April 11, 2012 Without the face tint' date=' there's no way the skin is going to match the color of the player's skin. [/quote'] um well, I don't think it had any face tints at all when I extracted the file. But I copied the BSLightingShaderProperty from Tieve Mask... I will attactch the file as well
Kalell Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Ok, I've gotten the face to show up now but just like the hair it's way too high above the body. It also seems to be transparent. I don't know if that's something to do with the properties or because I don't have the textures in the right folder. Do you know what folder the textures should go in? The head and hair also doesn't move. I tried copying the bone weight of a Lightning mask I have to get them to move properly but it didn't work (usually it does) so I don't know what's wrong with it. I've uploaded what I've done so far. Maybe someone will have better luck figuring out the things I can't fix. Here's the link: Edit: Never mind, it looks like Endiness is much farther along getting this to work so you should have him fix it for you if he hasn't already fixed it (I should have been paying closer attention to the comments that were being posted lol). It would probably take me a long time to figure this out.

Well I was scared by the eyes but I think this is a huge step toward getting this helmet done
