Need some help with an audio glitch please

Had to restore my game to it's vanilla state following a game breaking glitch in Windhelm. I initially forgot to verify the integrity of the cache, but Skyrim ran fine apart from a glitch to NPC dialogue. Verifying the cache found 9 missing files, but a 2.8 GB download didn't solve the issue.

Basically, NPC's dialogue is randomly 'skipping'....they miss the last word or two of their sentences. It doesn't happen every time, and dialogue that's fine in one save will be glitched in the next, and vice versa, dialogue that was fine will be glitched. This happens if both my character and the NPC are standing still, or if one or both of us is moving, and is really immersion breaking and annoying.

I know this is a 'known' issue, there's stuff about it all over the internet, but nothing I can find that solves my problem. I have a HP Envy laptop, with an i7 processor, 12 GB RAM and Realtek drivers (up-to-date) driving Beats Audio. I've done the lowering to 44100 Hz solution, but it didn't do anything, and I don't seem to have the other selectable options people have used.

Please help, this is ruining the game for me. Thanks.
