Mod idea: Borrow something from a merchant

The idea behind this is, you can ask about a horse, weapon, shield, boots, armor and more to test it for one day.

Only for one day!!!

 

When you bring it to late back, the merchant borrows your whole stuff from inventory and give it only  back when you make a quest for him.

 

It could be: 

 

Steal something from an other merchant in an other town ( better and harder from an Guard in an other town ) You win, than ou get your belongs back. When you lose youre arrested anyway. 

 

Bring him things for a new Armor ( how hard you want to get this? Choose an easy or hard way ).

 

Meet a friend from him and help him with his show ( you are the show and this is in a bandit camp or cave and  do what they want and nothing worse happens, when do not than you get raped a few times and after that ther is a cell for you with 4 rats ( or a troll, wearwolf,...).

 

Go to the Yarl in Windhelm and bring him a the new  craftet weapon ( and you end up as fun for the guards too ).

 

Go to Riften an bring the thiefs guild a closed message ( in the message: The deliverer is the new town whore, bring her to her cell outside and her visitors too. Make sure she can not escape, it is your money what is missing than ). When you open it want you go to Riften? You can go back and ask him: is this a joke? Or you say sorry that you was to late. On the end you get knocket down and wake up in this cell.

 

A trapdoor near a ruin and you have to find a magical ring and the only way out is to traverse the cave with full off horny rats, drauger or many tentacles.

Although it's not exactly what you want, there is a mod on the nexus which adds a bank near Whiterun. You can borrow large sums of money from this bank, and if you do not repay quickly a bounty will be sey on you.

I don't think I'd ever have a reason to borrow something like a horse or some armor.

 

Made me think of a different idea though. Add the ability to buy devious device keys at huge prices, but you don't have to have the gold on hand. Instead you go into debt with the person and have to pay them back within a certain amount of time. The idea being that if you're so bogged down by devices you can't really fight anymore, you get them removed and go into debt. Then you can fight again to pay them back.

 

If you don't pay them back in time then bad stuff happens. You could set it up as a trap where if you talk to the npc you owe money to after the time limit you automatically get arrested or punished in some other way. Or they send bounty hunters after you or something.

 

I think captured dreams shop kinda does this, but you have to be part of a quest with that mod that puts an unremovable chastity belt on you and there's no consequence of not paying your debt other than the belt itself.
