Yellow flakes around me

Hi

I've always received good answers and quite fast whenever I posted here, so here I am with another one.

All of a sudden some yellow flakes started circling my character. I thought it was from a sprigan or something, but I haven't saw any. I was just minding my own business, slaying some bandits south of Iverstead, near a dwemer ruin (where you discover that forge).

I have attached a screenshot of the effect.

I've tried unequipping everything and viewing my inventory in the console. I saw something without a name, it was tagged as worn, but I can't get rid of it with player.removeitem. I've also tried sleeping, hoping it will wear off, cleaning my save, but still nothing. I'll try waiting again for a longer period.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'll come back with my load order. Thanks in advance for any replies

You're on the right track, but this is likely being caused by a magic effect rather than an inventory item.

If you have MfgConsole installed (it comes bundled with SexLab 1.59c), then you can click your own character and look through the ActiveEffects section to see if anything looks suspicious, then use the removespell command to get rid of it.

If you've never used Mfg before, Shift basically acts as a left-click, just aim at the thing you want to open and press Shift while hovering the cursor over it.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I still haven't managed to remove that effect. All effects are things I am familiar with. I gather that I should look only at the active ones right?

One more thing I forgot to mention. When the effect started, I have noticed an active effect called "cell tracking effect" or something of the sorts, but its not there anymore. I found it under inactive effects and saw that it's from the Mia's lair mod. I'm going to uninstall it and see what happens.

update

well that didn't do anything (except for making me run fnis again)

Yes, I assume the shader effect is only applied while the effect is active. However, keep in mind there are actually 4 sections in the ActiveEffects list ( I can't recall the exact names but I think they're something like: Active, Inactive, Active-Hidden, Inactive-Hidden ), so the effect you're looking for may be listed in Active-Hidden.

Edit: Worst case scenario, you could systematically disable ESPs in your load order, starting from the last and progressively working your way towards Skyrim.esm. You can disable them in groups of, say, 20, and once the effect disappears, you can narrow it down to the last 20 you've disabled until you find the culprit.
