CTD between Riverwood and Guardian Stones

Hi,

 

I've looked all over google, the nexus, and here for a solution to my problem, but everyone seems to have a different answer. Whenever I pass by Riverwood and the Guardian Stones, a CTD is almost guaranteed to occur. Sometimes, I'm able to make it past, but only to have it crash on the road to Whiterun. I keep my mods sorted with LOOT, using Mod Organizer, and have cleaned my Skyrim, Update, Dawnguard, Hearthfires, and Dragonborn with TES5Edit.

Start a new game and go to that same area. Does it still crash?

 

If not, then there's probably something bad in one of the world cells that will get cleared up when it next resets. You can force it to reset by waiting 31 in-game days.

 

If it still crashes with a new game, one of your mods is responsible for it. You'll need to disable mods by trial-and-error until you find the culprit.

disable anything that adds new or increased spawns and then try it.

It looks like it was a problem with SMIM, because as soon as I turned it on, new character and old character were crashing... Turned it off, and no crashing so far. I'll let you know if it changes, but for now, thank you!
