jzc136 Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Hi all, so I decided to finally use 3DMax 2016 to modify an amor and encounter this problem. Here is what I did: - Exported the OBJ from the original NIF by using NifSkope - Modified the OBJ in 3DMax and exported it as a OBJ (only modified the actual mesh) - Opened the original armor in NifSkope and imported the new armor by overwriting the old one. In Nifskope the armor's texture seems to have black spot all over the place, the mesh itself looks fine, but when I load the game the armor is a polygon mess. I obviously did something wrong, but I can't figure it out. Any guesses? Also, maybe my method is wrong, how can import a mesh to max, modify it, and then exported to Nifskope or BodySlide studio?
Guest Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 OBJ has no proper weighting, so that's not a good way to modify armor. Best to just get max 2012 and a nif importer/exporter and directly modify the nif. You can watch these tutorials on how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL584C2169F65490DF
jzc136 Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 I appreciate the respond, I'll look into that option. Thanks.
