I'm a huge fan of Paradox, played countless hours especially the Europa Universalis and Hearts of Iron series.

 

Now with Stellaris i just read this on another forum:

 

There’s so much more: observation posts to monitor planetbound species, either non-aggressively or with added abductions and invasive surgeries; pre-sentient species that can be genetically modified and controlled; genocide and enslavement.

 

Paradox games are pretty modable, and here is a crusader kings mod posted, this could be quite fun. Maybe i can make a tentacle beast race then which is hunting and abusing any human it can find
