Saber2th Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Hi, I really need some help here. I recently bought and installed the steam version of the game and noticed that right at the start of the game, quick saving when overriding an existing quick save slot takes a long time. I realised this is an recurring issue with quick saving in Bethesday games but I never had this problem back when I was playing a non steam version. So I'm not sure what is the problem here. Thanks in advance. If you buy the disks, it makes you install Steam. To answer your question more directly: I don't personally advise using quick save, or even saving multiple times over a save. If you're going to save? MAKE A NEW ONE!!! That way you can always go back if your current save becomes broken. Yes, it takes a few extra seconds, but in the long run it pays off because you can go back to check for errors with mods.
Killing Joke Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Quick & auto saves can be unreliable so even if you never had any problem with them, better be safe and use manual saves as much as possible.
Saber2th Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 Thanks for the replies. I've started using a recently released skyrim CASM mod which allows saves similar to default quick saves without the problem.
