Navmeshes and Pathfinding

So, I just had a question about Navmeshes and the CK cells, from my tests I have noticed that when I add things to the world the NPCs seem to be unable to 'see' the objects infront of them so they keep colliding with the object until they somehow move or are redirected to the correct path.

so here are two examples, these all happened in pre-existing cells, so first I removed a staircase and move it to the left but the NPCs instead of using the new staircase 10 feet to their left they kept colliding to the wall until they clipped through it and 'climbed' it to reach the top.

the other example is there used to be a wide terrace but I added a couple of columns in the middle, a player will have no problem navigating through them but the NPCs just keep hitting them and sometimes get stuck.

Are all of these Navmesh problems? I have added things to both the World Space and Interior Cells, what must I do so that NPCs stop doing stupid things like this?

Yes, they are navmesh problems. You should not put navmesh under the columns. Just stay around them.

And for the staircase you moved, be sure you also repositioned the navmesh.

Then keep in mind that you can set some of the navmesh triangles as "preferred path" (select the triangle and click P), it will become yellowish.

NPC will use before the "preferred paths" and then the normal navmesh ones.
