Need help with Sexout operation and mod installation.

Hello,

I just finished FONV for the upteenth time and have decided that it's time to try to mod it. I've installed Sexout and all requirements and a few mods but, even though the game starts fine, I can't seem to get any of it to work properly.

For instance, when I hit the Y key, my character gets naked and then disappears. Installed the Sexout toys repack through FOMM and yet the container is not where it's supposed to be. I mention this one because it's the only other mod I've actively tried out, other than trying to get Sexout to do something, and there is not any installation info on it.

Here is a list of what I've DLed and installed and maybe somebody can tell me where I went wrong.

Through FOMM

BnB BodyExtender Compatability Skeleton 1_2-45229-1-20

GSB-BDSM (all 5  mods)

Lutana's NVSE Plugin

NVAC

NVSE Extender

Sexout-Soliciting--DATA-PACK---January-24-2015

SexoutMeshes20120206

SexoutNG - Bodies, Core, and Data

The Mod Configuration Menu

UIO - User Interface Organizer

Directly dropped in game folder

SCR Spectrums Toy Pack 20131009

SmallerTalk

NVSE 5.0 beta 2

Basically everything for Sexout Compilation Pack v2 7-19-2015 v2. Not sure what parts got installed in what way for all of it but the only thing I didn't get was the breeders. Any help would be great. I've never used FOMM before and am not sure how it works. Thanks.

Silly question perhaps, but did you download some mods that USE the Sexout framework? something like Sexout Sex? From what you have posted, I don't see any mods that use the animations.

Don't know. I downloaded the compilation pack thinking it would be a good start. Then I had to make sure I had all the requirements. The Y key does show a masturbation animation but I can only see it from a top down camera angle. I think what I need is step by step instructions on how to get it working and then all the other mods. Quests, events, and the like.

I do want to eventually get all the quest mods as well as the companions, but I want to know if it's worth going through the game again. I have Sexout installed and it's working (I think). All I would like is to find out how to install the other things. Like SmallerTalk. It's just an esp file so do I drop it in the game folder or create a fomod package through FOMM?

Well, basically... Apart from NVSE itself, you use FOMM for every mod you install. All texture packs, NVSE plugins, all sexout mods etc. This is the purpose of FOMM. It will keep track of what you installed and it makes for easy uninstalling, should you want/ need to. So yes, you also have to install smallertalk with FOMM as well as the toy pack. Most mods come in a 7-zip, fomod, zip or rar package and FOMM can read them all.

I haven't used the compilation pack, but I checked the post and it does include mods that use the sexout framework, so in that respect you are good to go.

As far as the camera angle issue: when sexout starts an animation, it goes into the so-called Free Camera mode. This means that you go into 3rd person view so you can watch the action from a distance. The camera angle starts more or less inside your character. With the movement keys (W A S D Z) and mouse you can move the camera around.

A good tip for you would be to look up the user RitualClarity. In his signature of his posts (click the spoiler button), you will find a whole list of helpful links to tutorials and explanations on how to get mods working or how to set them up.

Another tip is to look up the STEP Guide for FO:NV. Here you will find a (detailed)  guide on which mods to use, how to install and tweak them, to get the best looking/ working/ stable modded version of FO:NV. You don't have to install all the mods they suggest, just pick and choose the ones you think will be useful to you.

And the most important tip saved for last: ALWAYS read the original post of the mod you are installing and read it well! Every word the mod creator puts in the original post is there for a reason.

Modding is a lot of work and sometimes rather frustrating because things don't immediately work the way you want/ expect them to. But in the end, it is soooo worth it.

Good luck and if you run into problems: just ask!

I would like to once again thank Vachnic for responding to my post because I just realized I'm a complete idiot. After dealing with making sure I had all the requirements for the compilation pack, I had forgotten to actually install the pack itself. It seems to be working fine now but before I go to far in, how do you trigger the soliciting quests?

*chuckles* Welcome to modding, Brimstone. A gaming path with many "OMG am I really this dumb?!" moments ;) Been there, done (doing) that.

I am glad to hear you got it working. Unfortunately, I have never used soliciting, so I have no idea how it works. Best option is to read the original Soliciting post. If you can't find the answer, read the forum posts or ask there and someone will answer. Same goes for any other mod you use: go to the forum of that mod, read the Original post, the forum posts and if you can't find your answer, just ask there.

But a (very) quick glance at Soliciting tells me that you have to find certain people and talk to them to start the quests or a specific event has to have happened before a quest starts. Most of it is in the original post by Odessa (she is good that way)

So have fun earning caps in the Mojave!
