Is anyone else experiencing random CTD's on saves that used to work in TTW?

It's something I noticed that's been happening to me. I'll try to load my most recent save and it will load in for a half second and then immediately CTD. And the saves will have initially worked in the past. And then in order to get it working again, I usually have to keep loading older and older saves until I find one that works. I don't know if it's a problem with just mine, or TTW's interaction with Sexout, or my load order. It'd be helpful to know if it's happening to other people as well though.

Corrupt saves. Odessa has made a clean your saves mod for FNV so this should work for you since you are on FNV. If that doesn't help your case, your best bet is to delete those saves a play through where you left off from your last uncorrupted save. It sucks, I know, but it's either that or start a new game. The only other work around (but it will still save corrupt saves) is committing suicide and you should continue to play with no issues and your game should autosave (if you are using CASM or another mod like it), but the moment you relaunch New Vegas, it will give you the same CTD when trying to autosave or hard save.

See, I would think that they're corrupted, but I'm not sure how they get corrupted in the first place. They load fine for a long time, and then I stop playing the game for a while, in this case, probably at least two weeks, and then I come back and they're broken. I'm not sure how that could happen. And it's not even the same saves. I keep having to go farther and farther back every time so where it says my playtime is 12 hours, it's probably been at least twice that at this point from retracing my steps. To be honest, when I was trying to find a working save yesterday, I couldn't even do that. I didn't go super far back because I just lost patience from having to restart my game every single time. I actually couldn't get into the Vault 87 labs because my game kept crashing inside so I had to COC my way to Fawkes just to continue with the story.

 

Where is that save cleaner by the way if I can't find it?

Alright, 100% it's a problem with Sexout. Once I disable Sexout it works, but I can't get this to be clean for some reason. Even after disabling them and then waiting several days and then enabling them again. CTD as soon as Sexout starts loading. Maybe I'll just try an older version.

 

Nope. My game is just fucked. No matter how far I go back, the game keeps crashing. Back to Skyrim until Fallout 4 and new sex mods.

I've had issues in the past when cranking up Fallout after an absence of not playing it for months. I'm not sure what the deal is with that, but I've experienced similar problems myself.

You know, come to think of it, I do defrag my computer once a week. Maybe that has an effect on save files and that's why it suddenly has problems. Do you defrag? Just in case there's some kind of common link.

Yes I do it through AdvancedSystemCare that includes defrag and other stuff like registry fix, junk file cleaning etc... And that very well could be the culprit. Usually 2-3 times a week.

I don't usually find broken saves in my Skyrim (despite the Papryus coding making it much harder to keep mods in working order) so it could just be the fact that it's an old game engine. Hopefully other people will see this thread and chime in to whether or not they get broken saves or defrag a lot. A 2/2 reproduction rate isn't exactly a surefire conclusion.
