Headgear not equipable

I have a small problem, I think some of you are familar with the Catwoman armour set.

I think it's pretty awesome, but I tried heading back to Skyrim to find that the helmet isn't equipable anymore, I can't click to equip this item, it simply does not show and sort of sign that it is equipped when clicked, it does nothing.

It's only this armour's headgear that isn't equipable, so there must be something wrong with the armour itself.

Many thanks to anyone who can help me get to the bottom of this, or show me how to fix/fix the issue !

My first question when I see this kind of problem is always: do you use Devious Devices?

If you do the culprit may well be the device hider. It occupies the long hair slot (41) by default, and if that's the slot the helmet occupies then you can't wear the helmet without changing the hider's slot in the DD MCM. Also, the device hider is configured by default to hide items in some slots when wearing anything in the main body slot (32)

So, if you do use DD, see if the helmet equips when you have no torso armour/clothing on, and if it does then you need to change the device hider settings because wearing something in slot 32 must be rendering the helmet invisible. If the helmet won't equip even when you're "topless" then try changing the slot used by the device hider to something else.

If you don't use DD then forget everything I just typed :P Though it could still be a slot conflict. Try to check which slot the helmet uses, that you're not wearing anything else in that slot or that you're not wearing anything else set to hide things worn in that slot.
