Joomla Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 so i tried launching my creation kit from desktop today like i had always did but it literally crashed the second i double clicked it. so i was like np i just go and verify my files and it did find 1 missing file and got it back. still crashes... ookey so i resintalled creation kit. crashes. verify files "all files verified no missing files" try to launch crashes. browse local files. creationkit.exe is inside skyrim install folder (not data but the folder skyrim.exe is in see pic) so im sort of out of luck so i tried to launch the .exe directly and that was when i got error about missing file called steam_api.dll. what is that file? could i have accidentally deleted it while modding? why doesnt verifying local files notice it missing? can i verify skyrim files without it removing my mod files/replacing them?
Slammer64 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 You'll need to re-install Steam as the steam_api.dll is part of that installation.

Joomla Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 also if i really need to reinstall steam can i atleast keep my games i have more than 550GB of game files in steam folders (i have 2 folders one on C: and other in A: )
Joomla Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 i just realized why it was doing this. I HAD 2 SKYRIM INSTALLS what the literal fuck is going on when i moved it to skyrim install in A: HDD it started to work
