Silvist Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Heyo everyone, I'm just working on an armor for one of my characters, and I ran into some issues with it. My modding experience is broad, but pretty amateur and limited. All I'm trying to do is take two different armors and merge them into one. Part is the plate pieces from the Lord Armor, and the other is the DB base armor. I used the alpha mask that was currently on both textures in CS5, and I hid the parts I wanted to make invisible/transparent. Then in nifskope I set the nialphaproperty for both, 4844, and thresh 128. My issue with just using alpha properties is one armor shows up..while the other doesn't. I also had an issue copying over the ni tri shape of one armor to the other. It would give me the error: Failed to map parent NiNode|Torso I tried to copy over all the stuff under the Ninode to the other nif, and reassign all of it in the typical format. Though, when I ran it in game it would just CTD. Currently this is how it looks in game, from what I described above, one being transparent and the other showing up: Here's how the armor is supposed to look: After this I figured that perhaps the UVmapping was screwed up, so I tried to manually delete everything I didn't want in the Lord Armor mesh in 3ds Max 2011. I'm still getting used to how it works, and I wasn't sure if a dismemberingskininstance is required to export the nif properly. Regardless I tried with deleting it completely, making a new one in nifskope, and also making a new one as a modifier in 3ds max. The typical way I delete parts of the mesh is the from the element option, because what I'm working with isn't broken up into pieces. So if I kept the original dismemberingskininstance, nifskope exporting plug in would crash every single time I tried. I made sure to apply a smoothing modifier at 2, and I even tried copying over the skin properties of the male body to the armor (with smoothing). When I got it to export..which was only by either deleting the dismemberingskin, or making a new one in 3ds max...I deleted the bsshaderproperty, and the nialpha. Copied over the original bsshader, and remade the nialpha. After all this mesh editing...it now shows up completely invisible. I check to make sure has vertex colors was yes, and what not. I'm basically out of ideas how to make this possible. That's why I'm asking for anyone who has more knowledge than I with help with this. Here is the current nifs I did without mesh editing, and only tex editing (along with the mesh I was able to edit and sucessful export from 3ds max which is outside the folder layout): spellslingerWIP Please either let me know any ideas you have, or if someone could be so kind as to actual look at the files, and see if there's any ideas on solutions. Thanks again.
