notepad fat fingerd

Hey guys I wanted to get back into Fallout NV (as well Xcom EW) and as I was modding my games I noticed after I down loaded my NVSE and the skeleton mesh for required for sexout mods that my files (not all of them) were now in note pad. What gives? I assume I fat fingered something and made all these files now junk because I cannot drop the proper data in the correct folders. Do any of you all know what I have to do to reverse this? And yes a good portion of other sexout related files are now read in notepad. I already have the proper zip program installed as well I did a virus sweep to ensure that I'm not infected with something. Specs below:

System type: 64-bit Operating System 

 

edit: I did search online for places to get help else where but all the other places were just sending links to trap people with worms....so yeah..I generally trust the people here more to give me better guidance.

You can open nif files in notepad, but they are still nif files. I you open the file with nifskope and set nifskope to be the default program to open nif files with, it should be fine.

Okay cool.....how would I go about doing that?

You should be able to right click on the file and "open with...". Then you can tick the box that lets you specify the default program to open that file type.
