Bound weapon's models

So I'm thinking of changing the color of bound weapons to red/black and if I'm not mistaken then that is done by changing some parameters in darkswirls.dds and gradshockrune.dds with nifskope. Are there any other files I need to change besides those two? Where exactly do I find them anyway? I assume I'll have to extract skyrim - meshes.bsa, skyrim - textures.bsa or skyrim - shaders.bsa?

Seems to me you answered your own question.

Yeah, I guess I did. Was just kind of hoping for a quick confirmation if I missed anything.

Anyway, I think I found the files now. Seems like the ones I have to change are actually nifs in the boundweapons folder. Don't really know which parameters I have to change though. I'm guessing the "emissive color" and maybe "specular color" ones under BSLightingshadeproperty?

Well, I'll mess around with it for a while and see what happens.

I managed to partly change the color of the bow, at least the flames, but the weapon mesh in the middle is still the same as before and I can't seem to find any settings that control it.

I changed both the source textures and the grayscale textures, then made all available specular color and emissive color either red or dark red in every single NiTriShape that had them.

Kind of running out of ideas now.

Changing the mesh is easy though.

You can add pieces or just straight up re-name another mesh.

Its not hard, just remember to carry over the specular edits and transparency.

Cant remember off hand if it uses an Alpha but if it does include that also with stuff you add.
