New body skins the change appearance of face mesh?

Is it true that body reskins change the appearance of your character's head/face mesh?

I installed the mature skin mod for UNP skinny body and my female character's face looks noticeably different.

 

I thought this only changes the texture and leaves the mesh alone.

Skins don't just replace your body's texture, they need face textures too or you're going to have mismatched heads everywhere. All the differences you're seeing on the face is from textures alone.

The face textures look different because they are different, noticeably different from vanilla textures. And as Mud said, body and face textures are separate, you gotta download both or you have a mismatch (neck seams with the textures, etc.), which you did do so hence the new textures.

 

There's no meshes in Mature Skin, i know that by heart since i use it myself. And no texture can change a mesh, they're two totally separate things in this regard.
