Kernel39 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I have racemenu and UNP Skinny body installed, and there are unsightly neck seams on all of my characters. Evidently the racemenu mod greatly increases the polygon count on your player character's head, and I think this might be conflicting with my custom body. The skin color of the head is also darker than the rest of the body. Here are some example screenshots. It's a bit more visible when I'm using UNP than with CBBE.
Anatriax Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Check out my guide There are a lot of suggestions of mods there. You can replace CBBE with UUNP if you prefer, but CBBE has lots of options For a specific answer, though. It's a mis-match of meshes and textures. Texblend (packaged with CBBE) can help reduce this, but the only REAL way to get rid of them is to use a total skin texture package that is designed for the body you want to use.

I've tested texblend some time ago and it doesn't work for me. It made my neckseams even more visible. Even though I had the same diffuses and normals, I still had neckseams. The best way is to edit them in the blender or 3ds, but not every one can do this.
Gameplayer Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Racemenu does not effect polygon counts >< Skin Color difference is due to the texture mods you have downloaded. It gets tiring re-explaining best results come from using a total package from the same author. Mix and Match always fails. Head, Body, and Face Tints should all come from the same author for best results and even then the author may have done a bad job.

So I don't have to explain things over and over.
EdinMG Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 See if this helps... http://www.loverslab.com/topic/36114-do-it-dirty-fix-that-skyrim-neck-seam
Joomla Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 ok so few things 1 is this fresh install? 2 when doing fresh install did you make sure all folders including steamapps/common/skyrim and documents/mygames/skyrim were empty? 3 after installing unp did you install additional textures? if you look to /data/textures/actors/character/female does this folder have texture files in it? ===== those are things you want to check furst since they are mostly the cause of this problem atleast for me
FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 1. Stick with UNP. Do not revert to CBBE. Stick with UNP. Pick a set of UNP, or UNP-variant body meshes. 2. Follow the KENDO neck seam guide linked above by EdinMG. That is the first step. That fixes the seams between the meshes. 3. Pick a set of UNP Textures. Not CBBE, not Vanilla. UNP Textures. 4. Regular ol' Texblend by Caliente will not properly fix UNP skins. You need to use Svarog's UNP Blender. Pick the version that matches the UNP textures you installed. Remain calm. Read the instructions in the Descriptions. Do not bug Svarog. Remain calm. Follow the instructions. Remain calm. If in doubt, re-read the instructions. 5. Your seams should be fixed. If something has gone wrong, uninstall meshes & textures and repeat steps 1-4.
