Lydia Modding in CK

Pardon me if this post is from a complete modding newbie. I've been playing in CK with Lydia trying to tone her down a little bit. I can't tell you how many times I've killed her because she stepped into my swing! I also have an issue with her base armor. She won't wear Elven Armor because it's not as strong as hers. After watching the tutorials on YouTube, I went into CK and changed her AI Attitude to Brave from Foolhardy. I also removed her armor and weapons so she will only wear what I give her(Hell, she's a housecarl! She doesn't need to wear armor at home!). I saved my settings as LydiaMod, and placed the .esp and .bsa in the Data folder. I've attempted this many times, but cannot seem to get it to work. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I also have my own mod for Lydia. It doesn't play friendly with any other mods that change followers. Are you using any mods that might conflict? Have you tried changing load orders or disabling others?

Yes, I turned off all my mods and tried it, but to no avail. I also created a new Skyrim folder and installed the game, update and CK to it, started the game and played until I obtained Lydia as Housecarl, so as not to have anything in the Save that might be a problem. Still, no love.

I finally got all my mods to work properly. I am, by no means, an expert at this, but it's been alot of fun learning. I found a thread, (can't remember where, kinda like the 80's, just a blur) where someone posted a line that needed to be added to the SkyrimPrefs.ini. So for those who are having trouble as I did, this might help.

Go to your Documents\My Games\Skyrim folder and open the SkyrimPrefs.ini with Notepad. Under [Launcher], copy and paste this line.

 

bEnableFileSelection=1

 

Hope this helps. It got all my mods working so I don't feel like such a noob in CK!
