pukey Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Hey all, need help and guide here The Issue is about black texture in KS hair's mod Some of the hair just appear with black texture with whatever color i configured, but a few worked just fine looks great I have encountered issue like this before and managed to solve it The two similar case i had before are with USKP ebony armor and Bless armor Mod Both of those black texture issue is solved by modifying the nif file (as for USKP i had to extract the ebony mesh file) What i do is open the nif file in nifskope, right click the object -> mesh -> face normals, and in menu bar, spells -> batch -> update all tanget spaces So if i were need to do that, is it better to just abandon the BSA file and have do with loose files instead ? Tbh it will be a chore, so any other faster way u all can think off ? I read in KS hair mod thread here in LL(which is now locked) there's a few with similar issue And im sure not everyone have these problem i have, consider its from major mod namely USKP So what caused my problem here ? i have tried on fresh vanilla install but still like that
Ayn Sof Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 I had somewhat similar issue with ks hairdos. some hairs appears black under certain indoor lighning (fireplace light, etc). to solve the issue, open the hair nif file with nifskope (without the HL in the name), double clicks shader flags 2 inside the bslighningshaderproperty and check the SLFS2_Assume_shadowmask box. Also look at the Skyrim Shader type, it must be "Hair Tint". Of course assuming you have the same issue as me.To find out the hair meshes names, use racemenu or the latest ECE, they display the names on the hair slider, or use the creation kit.If you have the bsa and the loose file version : edit/fix the problematic hair meshes from the loose file version, then create new folder (Meshes > KS Hairdo's) (this is for the 400 hairs version, i don't know about older versions), place the edited hair meshes inside that folder. You can keep using the bsa version, the edited hair meshes you placed in that folder will overwrite the ones in the bsa when you start the game. that's the fastest way i can think of. well correct me if I'm wrong.hope this helps you somewhat, sorry for the jumbled words
pukey Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 Mine is older one, 265 one, but they are exactly no different, inside folder KS Hairdo's Say, for both male and female hair's fixing 'em one by one is a chore for me, i mean like how many of 'em r there XD Perhaps i should try the newest one, probably it become only a few with black texture, as of now in 265 ver there's a half n a bit more that with black texture I will also try ur method when i play the game next time And when u said about "certain indoor lighting", do u use visual enchantment mod ? come to think of it, i havent tried 'em outdoor yet thx for advice
