Oxomoco Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Hi guys, hope someone can offer some advice here! Coming back to Skyrim having not played in a few months. Used Mod Organizer and updated all my out of date mods in one go... probably not the best idea... but anyway, i booted up and all seemed to be working fine. Then about 5 mins later i entered Riften and my game turned to a total slideshow, dropping down to around 1fps when looking at the Riften marketplace from a certain place/angle. If i turn back around or look down at my feet, my fps goes instantly back to normal. Even weirder is that when i'm looking at it and getting 1fps, the screen will change brightness and hue, as if the weather/night cycles is screwing up - it's hard to explain so I took some crappy gifs to illustrate this. I ran a total default profile in Mod Organizer, and the issue wasn't there, so i'm assuming it's mod related and not my GPU or anything. But the way my game is set up makes it hard to deselect mods for testing, as it will often CTD instantly if I deselect one, with MO stating there's 'missing masters' - which i suppose means that I'd have to rerun Patchus Maximus and all that again each time... It's kind of turn off all mods or nothing. So i'm just asking here first if anyone can think of a reason, or has experienced anything similar and can suggest a course of action that would save me starting a fresh or painstakingly going through each mod. I have literally hundreds of mods... way too many, and badly organised, so I don't know how useful uploading my Mod list would be, but I could do this later if it'd help? I definitely didn't experience this problem when I was playing a few months ago, and out of the mods I updated, none were really related to weather or anything. I'm at a bit of a loss as to where to start fixing it. Hope someone can help, thank you!
terrorofmorrowind Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 i can only say to see if the game has this issue without any mods and then reinstall the mods one by one. it's painfull i know but it's definately faster then searching for the mod itself. btw what kind of mods do you use?
Oxomoco Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 Yeahhhh... that probably is the best way to fix it. I just can't bring myself to do it. It took so long to get the mods all working as they were a few months ago. Either I didn't notice this issue before, or my updating/something else has broken it. I use pretty much every time of mod available, from the fixes and unofficial patches, graphical enhancements, immersive stuff and the sexy mods from here.
Vykroft Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Like terrorofmorrwind said, you can't install dozen of updates and pretend that your skyrim work fine.. You have to do it one by one, that the best solution for your problem
Oxomoco Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 I know, i should have known better. I did a 'fresh' reinstall of nearly every mod, it didn't take as long as I thought it would and the problem is now seemingly fixed. Still no idea as to what caused it in the first place - the only mods I didn't install again were some texture mods, a bashed patch, Unique uniques and Real Shelter, but the problem didn't seem to be linked to any of them individually. Clueless, but it seems to be sorted for now. Cheers.
