Converted Mesh - Texture problem

Recommended Posts

So I've converted an Oblivion ear mesh from a mod to use with the Moonshadow Race and have run into a strange problem.

The ears keep taking the texture of the body and I got no idea why.

The texture paths in nifskope are correctly set and I even tried using a Texture Set in GECK, which didnt have any effect aswell.

If you know anything that could help me be sure to let me know.

Thanks in advance c:

This is sort of expected based on behavior I have seen on clothing meshes that have "shader skin" instead of "shader default", they display the body texture. When you set the mesh to use "shader skin" it will use the body texture. Could be engine limitation or hard coding since the head will use the proper head texture as designated in the mesh or texture set, as a work around first try changing the ears to "shader default" if that does not work try combing the head texture and ear texture into one and then combine the ear mesh and head mesh as one, see if that works. I think this might work as there are no separeate ears for any Fallout head, they are all one mesh.

Sorry for not responding such a long time but I didnt have internet access   :(

The mesh just had a false shader flag and thats why it was displaying the body texture

Also merging the ears and the head might be a good idea too

Thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction  :)

No problem, I kow how real life can get in the way but I am glad you were able to work it out, your image of the head model looks pretty good. I am not sure you would gain anythig by merging the ears to head but it might simplify the creating of the .egm files, not sure on that as I have never tried creating those. Keep hacking away at it though, I broke a lot of things messing around with meshes but that is how I learned what works and what does not.
