CTD after smoke on startup

Hello, after reinstalling and adding some mods, i got CTD and cant find the reason.

Sounds to me like you're missing a master file. Check through all your mods in NMM or whatever else allows you to see master files and look for anything you don't recognise and then go ahead and either disable that mod or install the master mod.

i use Mod Organizer and if there would be masterfile missing i would get a red warning sign in load order. so i dont think theres something missing.

 

BTW LOOT also tells if something missing!

You could go into MO and try disabling plug ins one at a time in order of priority until you can start a new game. It's tedious, but it works unless your game is completely borked.

 

 

I had a similar problem when trying to start a new game or load a save. I finally managed to fix it by re-building my FNIS patch. Don't know if that will help here, but it's worth a try.

When do you CTD?

[edit: ok, I just got the "after smoke" part. Ignore a couple of the following points]

 

Is it when you launch Skyrim? If it doesn't even get to the main menu, it's likely a missing master. Perhaps you just need to rebuild your dual sheath redux patch if you use it, or something similar (although it should report a missing master, iirc).

If it is when you load a save, it could be anything, even too much stuff to load at once. Open your console, type coc qasmoke and then load the save from inside the game.

If you recently removed a mod, you might have to start over (simply put).

If it is when you start a new game... could be skeletons, weird conflicts between mods, or a hundred other things. I won't even suggest anything specific, go over your mod list, check if there are incompatibilities, make sure you have all the requirements installed, etc.

 

Perhaps that's just too many mods for it to function? No idea about this though, I never even got close to that limit.

Or you need to rebuild your bashed patch. Haven't used one since Oblivion, but I remember it has to be kept up to date or undesirable shit happens.

If by after smoke you mean just before you reach the main menu then that is a missing file or a load order issue 99% of the time.

thx i found out that i need to relocate some mods manualy in load order and loot calculates then another load order and then it works
