Nalim Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 I want to torn off only the shadows that are cast on characters as I have the crappy shadows bug. Its only some light that does it but its annoying as hell and makes me unable to make nice screenshots.
jiitek Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 dont know if you can switch them off seperately but here are some things that helped me fixing the vanilla shadows: -shadow striping fix: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8043 -settings in SkyrimPrefs.ini: iBlurDeferredShadowMask=7 iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=2048 iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=2048 <- or even 4096 iShadowSplitCount=2 iShadowFilter=3 iShadowMode=3 iShadowMapResolution=2048 <- or even 4096 fShadowBiasScale=0.6000 iShadowMaskQuarter=4 you can if you want disable shadows completely: fInteriorShadowDistance=0 fShadowDistance=0
Mana Yakushima Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Is OP talking about the shadow-striping? I personally just turned iBlurDeferredShadowMask all the way up to 30 or so since my cpu sucks.
jiitek Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Is OP talking about the shadow-striping? ... No^^ ...just thought I mention that when it comes to shadows...
Nalim Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 I'm talking about the bug that occurs on certain gfx cards. My system isnt great but its more than enough for skyrim. Items cast and recieve shadows just fine. Actors look horrid in some light. It's rather strange as I can have one shadow fall on my toon look crisp and another that looks like a large dark blurry block. Ill try those settings ji but I have no high hopes, I have been messing around with those ones and it doesnt seem to change anything. I'd rather not turn of shadows as that would make everything look bad. I just want my toons free of shadows from actors and items.
