Followers with Custom Appearances and Vampirism

I'm having some issues related to the above. Vampirism works and looks like it should on my PC, but when I try to turn a follower into a vampire (ala Amazing Follower Tweaks, using both Bijin Warmaidens and BTRH Waifu mods for appearances, as well as Better Vampires), their custom hair turns blue, as if the texture is missing.
