DomDate Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 As an official LL mod addict, I've run into an issue in which there are simply not enough keys for assigning actions. Can anyone confirm whether or not a USB number pad will work with Skyrim, and allow me to expand hot-key assignments beyond the standard 104 keyboard? I can't afford a gaming keyboard and need a cheaper alternative. Other suggestions for solving my dilemma are also welcome. Thanks!
Anatriax Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 All I know is I use a Razer Naga 2012 MMO mouse, and that number pad works fine.

I have muscle spasms that occasionally leave me staring at the sky as it is. I can just imagine the pandemonium the sudden key-presses might cause. (although it could be interesting) Does the mouse extend the number of keys available, or does it just relocate the keypad?
Anatriax Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 You can switch it between the normal number keys (1-9, 0, and - =) Or, the number pad (1-9, 0 and + - )

So not what I need then, since I need more assignable keys, not transporting what is already there to another device. So I still need to know if Skyrim will support devices which provide additional, assignable keys beyond the standard 104 key-set.
DomDate Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 I found a review online by someone using a gaming keypad for Skyrim, so that answers my question. The game does support additional key assignments. Next, I guess I'll investigate using Window's character mapping with extended character sets to reassign the keys on a $20 laptop usb keypad. Has anybody tried this? Would it affect the keypad assignments on my keyboard as well? I'm living on a very limited income, so every purchase needs to count. Any help is appreciated.
