Do tell.

It can be anything. I am relatively new and I've seen some really amazing and creative stuff so far.

I post this in the adult section because I want it to be all-encompassing.

Deadly Dragons.

I tried playing the game without the mod, and came across the first named Dragon after you arrive in Whiterun. The fight was a bit annoying, being a low-level caster without a lot of potions, but not too difficult.

Then I installed Deadly Dragons. As I was derping around the countryside, I heard a loud *GRROOAR* and starting looking around frantically. This random dragon flew right above me, and landed on a nearby farm with a loud crash. I still remember how the screen shook it landed. As I ran toward it, the dragon swept the entirety of the field in flame, and dealt a particularly brave guard by eating him whole. What came next was 15 minutes of frantically chugging potions and nearby crops as I fought it, with nearby NPC guards joining in the fight and getting killed while I took cover behind the farmhouse every time it tried to breathe on my character.

As my character became a magic-slinging dragonhunter with fully enchanted mage regalia, dragon encounters calmed down a bit; by level 35, I could go to the dragon roosts and take on the dragons there comfortably, and thought I was a pretty cool guy.

Until was knocked down by a meteor out of FUCKING NOWHERE in Winterhold. Cue looking around frantically, and seeing a huge red dragon flying around, meteors trailing in its wake, and conjuring shock atronachs FUCKING EVERYWHERE. Then it perched on the inn, and starting breathing this huge blurry inferno replete with fancy wavy effects and effectively blinding me while my HP dropped to 50%. Between 8+ unlucky guards, tons of potions, and me ducking around buildings while a Lydia decked out in the best gear a 110 enchanter/blacksmith could forge covered my ass from the atronachs, we managed to kill it. But holeeee sheeeit, that was a surprise of epic proportions. That's why I would recommend Deadly Dragons to anyone who plays Skyrim.

Oh, and the armor conversions to CHSBHC/BBP by Teals03/Keos. And the CHSBHC mod by CherryHotaling. And Caliente's various body mods, and Nalim's body mod. And Art of Magicka; if you're gonna mage, might as well look good while doing it.

Alternate Starting Factions - I wouldn;t start a character without it, and I start a lot of characters. There are plenty of mods out there that I would have to install eventually, but when starting a new game this one gets you off to a fresh and different start. The Dovakiin is taking a much needed vacation and you can play as a number of other character types with benefits that go along with it. My favorite faction so far is the Witch. Try it out on your next game, its a refreshing change of pace.

I gotta go with SkyUI on this. Definitely makes managing a large inventory less of a chore. The filtering and sorting options are indespensible, as are the smaller fonts which squeeze more stuff on the same screen. The favorites menu is actually useful when you use this mod. My wish list for this mod is for more auto-sorting for every item type. Also you gotta have the Bag of Holding. I know it's kind of a cheat and sometimes you can just have too much stuff and spend a lot of time going through it instead of just playing the game. I would rather have this problem than worrying about what to take or leave though. I guess I am a loot whore and a pack rat at heart, I just don't feel like a level is complete until it is wiped clean. This includes souls and body parts too so I guess I would have to add "The Vile Art of Necromancy" to this list. The conjuration spell this gives you is a little overpowered unless you are using combat mods but it sure is fun.

Summon Skeletal Horde- Just like "Overlord". They are pretty weak skeletons but they are great as "Vanguard" to send them into an enemy ambush and then you and your mashers can move in and counter attack.

More Indespensible Mods-

Jaysus Swords- The best weapons hands down. Something for everyone.

Apachii Skyhair- Very Beautiful, Realistic looking hair from one of the most prolific Oblivion modders. Can't wait for more.

Dual Wield Parrying - Requires scriptdragon (So turn off autoupdate with Steam) or otherwise everytime Steam patches, Scriptdragon will be broken until they can also update.

Sounds of Skyrim - Get both packages: The Wilds and The Dungeons, Very cool, very creepy.

Midas Magic of Skyrim - Some of these are a little overpowered but damn its a cool crafting system to make your own spellbooks. Lots of support spells too like Haste, Nighteye, Summon Luggage. Not just 12 variations of every elemental school.

As far as combat mods go, I am trying to determine which one is the best. I am using Duel and Deadly Combat together, i am not sure which one is taking precedence but I like the result. I have posted a separate reply asking people to render opinions on which Combat Mod is best.

I've been using deadly dragons with its enhanced mobs/crafting enabled too. Dragons have been a lot harder and the immunity to stagger from dual casting spells is great. I've not really noticed the mobs getting much harder though, both with a Wizard style and bow/dual sword style.

Other than DD out of the mods I've listed the indispensable ones are:

SkyUI

Quality world map (3d one was buggy for me)

SkyrimHD

Spouses Can live anywhere (in combination with any custom player housing)

Static Mesh improvement

Shadow Striping Fix

ENB of your choice

Glowing Ore

I think all the hair/body replacers are indispensable but it gets down to personal taste what you like. CBBE seems to be the most popular.

The others I'd recommend except for realistic water which ctd for me. YMMV

The Unofficial Skyrim Patch, even if it is still a Beta.

I would add Open Cities Skyrim, but the mod has become invalidated by the Beta patch for Skyrim (again).

Live Another Life.

CBBE-I am using a Beta by Roberts for a male body replacer

Wrye Bash 295.5-BAIN is the best tool for removing and installing mods and controlling what gets overwritten.

In terms of non-cosmetic things:

FrostFall - admittedly I have the hypothermia turned to half strength (otherwise anything in the frozen N/NE/E half of the map turns to "kk, there are fires which thaw me at this place, this place and this place and my destination is here, so if I run chugging stam pots and casting healing spells and shouting ghost mode, I might make it, GOGOGOGO."

headbomb's better sorting

Morekei fix - puts the correct enchantment on the mask. (supposed to be +100% magicka regen AND 20% shout CD reduc)

ShoutCD - reduces the shout CD time(and makes them proportionally less powerful)

KillMove plus

SkyUI

Art of Magicka

Wars in Skyrim.

Rest of them are just hair and CBBE-related.

All I'd like now is a mod that puts the staves on the back instead of popping into existence.
