XpatJohn Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Hi All, This is my first time posting here so please forgive me if I make any newbie faux pas. I have recently re-loaded Skyrim to do a new playthrough. The problem is that Skyrim keeps crashing on me. Backstory: This is a fresh install of Skyrim. I have paired the load order down to the bare minimum, but I still can't get it to work. I have run the load order through the latest versions of Loot, TESVEdit and Wrye Bash and I have loaded all the mods in the latest version of Mod Manager. I have also run the PatchusMaximus app as well. Here is my current load order: Skyrim.esmUpdate.esmUnofficial Skyrim Patch.espDawnguard.esmUnofficial Dawnguard Patch.espHearthFires.esmUnofficial Hearthfire Patch.espDragonborn.esmUnofficial Dragonborn Patch.espHighResTexturePack01.espHighResTexturePack02.espHighResTexturePack03.espPerkusMaximus_Master.espPerkusMaximus_Thief.espPerkusMaximus_Warrior.espPerMa Expansion 1 - Wintermyst.espPerkusMaximus_Mage.espSkyUI.espAlternate Start - Live Another Life.espPatchusMaximus.espBashed Patch, 0.esp The first problem is that if I view the skills tree (while still in the Alternate Start room), I just see the vanilla skill tree. The second problem is that if I try to leave the room by talking to the Mara and then sleeping, the game crashes to desktop. If I choose the "I just want to leave" option, I can pick up the lockpicks, but I am unable to interact with the door leaving the room. Any pointers you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Do you use MO or NMM? If you use MO try putting it at the very bottom of the install order. That seemed to fix the same bug for me. If you're using NMM, make sure to install it LAST. In either case, make sure to put the .esp below any other .esp's (Unless you're using Skyjub's Invisible Helmets. That always goes last, or it won't work), even your bashed patch, and the Dual Sheath Redux/Reproccer patches.

Unfortunately, even having Alternate Start as the only mod other than the unofficial patch mod for the official DLC and it still isn't working. So at this point, I am going to take the drastic route and completely delete everything and start over. Hopefully starting with a clean slate will get things working. I'll let you all know how it goes.

XpatJohn Posted April 6, 2015 Author Posted April 6, 2015 Update. I deleted everything. Application, Mod Organizer, Mods, INI files, the works. Re-installed everything and now it is working correctly. In any case, thank you for your suggestions it was greatly appreciated.
