I'm not a huge fan of having to "equip" spells to use them. Is it possible to make a mod in Skyrim using the CK to be able to cast spells without having to have them equipped? To elaborate if that's too vague, being able to dual wield and attack normally while being able to select spells and cast them with your swords equipped with a separate key? Or would I just have to modify shouts with the desired spell effect?

Yes it's quite easy to do with scripting. With the CK, you can cast spells without having to equip anything at all, or you can cast spells if you make even just one swing of your blade. Or you can cast spells as a lesser power and keep spamming it without having to do anything at all.

After your example I attempted to create it, but i'm still unable to figure out how to add make it work. My goal is to make spells "equipable" without the whole hands thing, much like shouts and abilities, but still have them drain magicka. But I also want to make spells castable with let's say, the middle mouse button.

Does the CK even allow me to hoykey the effect to the middle mouse button?

 

If anyone wants to do this for me, as a request, I would very much appreciate it! Though I would settle for pointing me in the right direction.
